He just started his next "large scale" project following Cry On getting canceled. Hopefully we will see soon!

He was half-way through when it was cancelled, which is even better!

EDIT: Seems we are both right. There are two projects :P

There are? I'm confused! He's half-way through one project and just starting on another?

It seems that way. He mentiones a project that is half complete in the first paragraph:

"I’ve finally reached half way up the mountain in regards to the latest project I’m on. Of course, there is a lot of work left to do, but I feel it’s approaching something I wanted to achieve. I’m betting a lot on this project."

...and a totally new project in the third:

"That being said, I’m starting a completely new, large scale project, different from this. I can’t reveal the platform, release date or the content of the game itself, but I’m putting my full strength into this project; including 120% of my emotions."

It occured to me that the project he's half-way through with is probably that new Blue Dragon game for the DS. The one in which you can make your own protagonist and all that.

Actually, you're probably right. The only thing about that that stikes me as odd is why he would be "betting a lot" on a spinoff project like that.

It looks an awful lot like Dragon Quest. Maybe he's gambling that Square-Enix won't slap him with a lawsuit.

Yeah, I dunno. That's a good question.

The closer to DQ, the better

Maybe it has something to do with Namco-Bandai. I bet he would love it if they became the publisher for all of Mistwalker's non-Microsoft projects.
