1. Link or it didn't happen. The 360 itself is a multimedia device and it was made by MS in the hopes of winning the console war. Company's make products with the intention of defeating their competition....but this isn't the only thing that they are concerned with. To say that MS's "goal" was the "fall of the PlayStation brand" is closing your eyes to reality: both HD consoles are getting pwnd by Nintendo.
2. You may not have looked at the post that I was referencing my response to. The overwhelming success of Nintendo is the reason Sony is in the situation they are now. It has nothing to do with Microsoft. The sales charts show this very clearly.
