Yeah Lynch is an amazing director. I loved Blue Velvet, but my favourites have to be Twin Peaks, Lost Highway and 
Dune Having said that I've not finished watching Twin Peaks yet because I've only recently managed to find the second series available to buy.
I'd definitely agree re The Machinist. I wonder if Crhistian Bale and Lynch will ever work together (I doubt it!) I also wonder how a Lynch directed Watchmen would've turned out.
