If RPGs were so significant, wouldn't they be the highest selling genre this generation? Microsoft just wanted to gain a bigger fanbase in Japan, that's it. The main fanbase of the Playstation consoles is the casual fanbase, and Nintendo snagged them, not Microsoft. 3. Sony did this too with the Playstation, and they could have done it this generation if they wanted to. If Sony wanted to buy downloadable content for 50 million dollars, they could have. They're a global corporation. That's not even that much to them. |
Allow me to finish your statements:
1...which is partially to blame for their currently horrid economic state.
2...It's not just about the games, it is the perception of the consoles ability to attract developers. I couldn't give two heated turds about FF13, but just the fact that it is coming to 360 impresses me and shows that Sony has weakened in the marketplace.
3...No, Sony absolutely can not throw money around like MS does. Given the current financial situation and given that Sony is losing BILLIONS, I would say 50 million means enough to them and their share holders to not be able to do these types of business manouvers. Sony will sink the Playstation before the Playstation sinks Sony. Have no illusions on that.
