Sorry that I'm late to explain this, but it mostly came in the fact that Aeris insisted, over and over, that she would be the one to sto Meteor, and it was implied over and over that doing this would require her to be alone. Cloud's visions of her, the walk through the woods, the entire sequence leading up to going after the White materia - all of it implied that Aeris wasn't going to stick around for very long.

It didn't make it less impactful. It was probably more impactful because it built up this sense of uneasy knowledge in me. But I saw it coming.

The only thing I have to say to you is that you're a goddamn guru. I didn't see it coming at all. Those events you said just made me think she was coming back after she had failed to prevent meteor, and subsequently we would have to find another way to do it.

How the hell does seeing her walking through the woods implies death?

She was, like, all ghostly and stuff. Usually when you have visions of a person in situations like that, things are grim?

I suppose through lack of clarity I may be being dishonest here: I went into the game knowing she died. I saw it being foreshadowed in that way. Unfortunately, that was spoiled for me long before I owned a Playstation.
