I must tell you that my ancestors fought countless wars to keep this big empty slice of land very Canadian (with a few human settlements here and there)! Though, I have to agree that we are not very "self-sufficient" and often require the help of our friends on the other side of the border... In other words, if they catch a cold there, we catch it as well.
With all that said, I don't get rocks thrown at me if I go visit other countries. o_O
