Which version of the 360 should I buy tomorrow?

Ah, then I suppose your best bet is to sell it for $50 unless you have a friend that knows how to repair 360s. A friend of mine told me he knew someone that would buy broken 360s and fix them then sell them for a lot more than he would buy them from people.
