Sure, google:"patch control tweaks" and google:"patch control sensitivity" are your friends. without delving too deep you'll find stuff about Rock Band, Motorstorm, Lair, iPhone games... and PC tweaks in MMOs controls and GUI are way too many to count.
I still have to assess that "a lot" objectively though, many people on the forums said they didn't even realize anything had changed. Maybe the changes are proportional and they impacted "a lot" only those who had the sensitivity all cranked up? Don't know, I'll measure stuff when I get back to my PS3 later next week.
