If the statement involves Team ICO, a deranged, drunken hobo doing a tap dance on a park bench is a reliable source...then it turns out to be wrong, and everyone is disappointed, and there is a dead deranged drunken hobo on a park bench.

Well, Ueda has been confirmed for GDC (like, actually confirmed http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3172927), so he should be at E3 as well...right?

Actually it's worse because I'm legitimately excited about this game and don't want to enter supposed "Confirmed" topics that have nothing but nonsense blog posts as it's source. Uncited blog posts by nature really can't "confirm" shit. Then I see a majority of people here treat this as news, instead of the rumor that it is.

The same thing happened last month when forevercloud produced a topic about Killzone 2's engine being used as middleware for PS3 developers which was sourced by a blog that was merely speculating. Nikkom produced proof from Guerilla Games themselves that KZ2 engine would not be used in this capacity and he was ignored by members here so they could continue living their delusion.

This happens more often and a lot on this particular Sony forum, but I'm not going searching for more of them right now. It just gets under my skin when rumors are treated as facts by people here.
