Halo you automatically think first person shooter games. So I guess the average person on the street who is not informed on what type of game Halo Wars is will assume it is a FPS and be bitterly disappointed when they discover it is a RTS.
The average person who plays games will not spend much time researching games. If a game has a popular brand name they will buy it on brand name alone.
I personally did not buy Halo Wars because I do not like RTS games. Thank god I researched and found out what type of game Halo Wars was going to be.
