From Wiki:

BEAT System

Battle Exalted Action Type (BEAT) System (or Battle Enhancement Attribute Type in English version) allows the player to choose Edge's and active team members' preferred fighting styles, such as offense, defense, sneak attacks, etc. As combat experience increases, the team can achieve higher combat rank statuses, which unlock advanced styles, known as Action Upgrades. BEAT.S (Strike) is a type of offense fighting style, which is actually a special Blindside technique. In effect, the team member forgoes defense and initiates multiple Blindsides to confuse the enemy, then unleashes a flurry of highly damaging attacks. BEAT.B (Burst) is a type of defense fighting style, a special Rush mode power play style. The team member fights the enemy directly in front with special attacks. During this time, the member is almost invulnerable to enemy attacks. Lastly, BEAT.N (Neutral) is a balanced type of fighting style combining offense and defense, and increases both S and B ranks equally, though it gains no special skills unlike BEAT.B or BEAT.S.

Also try talking to the black guy on in the base at Aeos, he can explain to you how it works. Pretty much, BEAT.S is straight forward attack style perks and raises those stats as you increase rank on the BEAT. BEAT.B is specialized on long range attacks and raises your stats accordingly for long range fighting. Each one of those BEATs has special perks that are activated during Rush mode. BEAT.N lets you combine the stats of both BEAT.S and BEAT.B but you lose all the perks that each one would give you individually.

So basicly its to tweak stats? Okay got'cha.

But what BEAT would be best for a full blown offence style?

And how do i level up my beats? i've only ever seen my characters level up and thats all... maybe i missed it or something i dunno.

Thanks for the heads up pb. :D
