No, I am not. Technical obsolescence was only part of my argument. Golden Eye does not control well. It's gameplay is relatively simplistic compared to more sophisticated FPS's such as Bioshock and Halflife 2. There is nothing that distinguishes it from a flock of similar games besides its legacy and nostalgia. It and PD are still very good games, they are simply not the best.
Also, though you may not want to admit it, technical advances can impact how good a game can be, particularly First Person Shooters. Would something like the gravity gun have been possible on the N 64's hardware? Perhaps in a lesser sense. Stronger hardware allows for increased capacity for innovation, at least when we're talking about today's hardware vs. the N 64's.
