Perfect Dark has more options and variety compared to many FPS's today.
I wouldn't say it was good for it's time only, because the game still has insanely good quality. The Combat Simulator (bot matches) gives the game tons of replay value. I personally think it easily beats plenty of this gen's shooters. Without a doubt, it makes KZ2's bots look horrible.
The only thing outdated about it is the graphics.
