I'm a vegetarian and have in the past 3 weeks moved into a self catered student residence. I've been eating pretty decent food actually - stir frys, risottos, pastas, curries for dinner. Usually just a toasted sandwhich or something simple for lunch. Breakfast = muesli time

How's being vegan going for you? I don't know that I could ever do that.

Its going much smoother than I expected. I thought it would be hard giving up cheese but so far I'm not really missing it.

The unfortunate thing is that my store just got rid of 75% of its vegan alternatives selection, including the only vegan cheese pizza and vegan fake chicken nuggets that were available anywheres near here. I guess that ensures that I don't eat ANY junk food I guess.

Good thing is if I do work up a really bad pizza craving theres vegan pizza places in Boston and Portland, the nearest real cities to here which are both about an hour away.

How are vegan pizzas done in general? I seem to recall a vegan friend of mine mentioning polenta. I've never had one, so I can only speculate. Is it just capsicum, onion, tomato and other veggies on a base? What's the "cheese"?
