Compare that to my father in law who is a general contractor and mainly builds houses who has on occasion made less than minimum wage in a single year who says he has no money. Anyways, generally poor would be making $20k/year or less (or making a little more but having huge student loans), and my definition of rich would be anyone making about $150-200k/year.

also depends on how many people are in your household. we (my family) took in $23,000 last year, but theres 7 of us, so we are incredibly poor.
