Meaning by the end of 2007, that number will be 83% who have HDTV. :) Meaning before the Good Wii games come, HDTV, will be the dominant TV. At least in america.
HDTV has been there in Japan for... alot longer. ;)
You do realise that 720p counts as a HDTV don't you?
My TV supports HD - and its 5 years old. Even does 1080i ;)
Things might be different in Australia - but *no one* has a true, 1080p capable TV. The stores have heaps of models - and only 1 (maybe 2) do true 1080p. Its just too expensive, and not worth the cash.
The Wii supports 480p - wouldn't be surprised to see the next model (Wii2) support 720p.
Its just like the "optical" digital output - I remember the uproar when the PS2 supported it - but the GC didn't. Don't see people still complaining about this...
