Well, you have to admit that it is probably a quite effective excuse for a slight programming trick. If you delay the control response slightly, it makes the internal timing much easier. Normally user controls cause an interruption in the normal behaviour to consider the new situation. With this trick they can simply work with a small time window, when the control signal is integrated.
