| damkira said: PS3 has been on a slippery slope ever since November 17, 2006. It has never really gained traction in the market and is the only console to suffer a sales DECLINE last holiday season. With each new exclusive release, people claim the PS3 will be saved by software and those people suffer great disappointment again and again. Killzone 2 is pretty much it. If it does not sell stellar amounts and move PS3s with it -- the PS3 is pretty much done. Developers have already had to file bankruptcy due to high development costs are disappointing sales of PS3-exclusive games and if Killzone 2 does not sell AMAZINGLY, then we can pretty much count out Sony for this generation.

This.
Sony PR and PS3 fan boys predictions are always left disappointed and eating crow. They keep making wrong predictions time and time again.
The recession is taking its toll on PS3 and Sony and they are losing more and more ground on its competition with every passing day PS3 is heavily outsold by Wii and it is outsold by XBox 360.
Kill Zone 2 is unlikely to have a long term impact on PS3 sales due to the PS3 having been out for around 2 years and a half Console exclusive games are unlikely impact on hardware sales in early stages of a consoles life within 2 years. PS3 has the high price of $400 hanging over its head that will keep future/potential buys away from PS3.
Kill Zone 2 will be mainly bought by people who already own a PS3. Kill Zone 2s impact on hardware sales will be minor in a way Gears of War 2 had an impact on XBox 360 sales.
PS3 price cut of $50 or $100 would make a much bigger impact on PS3 hardware sales than any exclusive game coming to PS3.
