PC games are an entry point for people to break into the electronic entertainment industry. It is essential part of the ecosystem. It won't go away, because too many people have PCs.
As for myself, I am a person who grew tired of the whole upgrade and deal with the PC gaming headaches. There are others out there, an increasing number of people actually. I also witnessed the types of games available on PCs declined. Console gaming was just easier. In the case of most people, they normally don't read forums like this and post, so they aren't heard off. It is very likely the end of my PC gaming days came when I could no longer return games that didn't work, to Electronic Boutique (after Gamestop took them over).
