Other issues:
1. Viruses.
2. System running suboptimally due to a bunch of installed other software in the background.
3. Needing to install software before playing (PS3 becomes like a PC in regards to this).
4. Defective video cards that show up MONTHS later (I had this with a card on a tower PC I had). Unlike the RROD issue with the 360, you don't get help for the issues.
Console gaming gets picked over PC gaming for similar reasons why people go for Mac over PC. The belief is that it is easy to get into and play.
