Yeah, but you don't have to have bad ping for your internet to disconnect. I'm not saying that their internet is disconnecting, I'm sure they are quitting. But if you got demerits for leaving a match and then you get disconnected sometime, well, that's not your fault and you shouldn't get punished for it. Which is why I think the system is alright the way it is, although it does allow some lameasses to slip through the cracks.

Why not adopt a Win/Loss/Disconnect system then? That system has been used in Starcraft since its launch over 10 years ago, so it's not like it would be difficult to introduce nowadays.

If someone genuinely disconnects it counts towards their disconnect record, not their loss record. If they actually quit the game they get a loss. Obviously this means some people intentionally disconnect, but most people view disconnects as losses anyway so there's an incentive there not to do that if you care about your record that much.

Theres a disconnect system on Smackdown vs raw 2007 aswell, that just sprung to mind.

I play smackdown vs raw 07 a fair bit still & everyones disconnect percentage is low.

And as others have said, maybe it is unfair to punish those who get disconnected genuinely...........

But what about those who play online a lot? your going to alienate your frequent users if they get p*ssed off with sore losers quitting all the time.
