Not to get off topic but an addiction is defined by the stages of:
Preoccupation
Intoxication
Withdrawal
With either non-existent or extremely limited withdrawal symptoms the repeated recreational use of a substance can not be classified as an addiction. You can develop a dependence on marijuana but not an addiction to it and there is a very big difference.
