Hey, that's a neat trick! You get to count Halo, Fable, Mass Effect, Metal Gear Solid, LittleBigPlanet, and Uncharted as all part of the same lineup. Very clever. I love how the 360 and the PS3 transform between bitter rivals and staunch allies depending on whether or not the Wii is around. Sorry, I don't have the patience for those massively epic post/counter-post wars anymore, but this point jumped out at me as especially ridiculous. Well, also the one about Sony and MS maybe eventually making money this gen if you disregard the costs they've incurred. That was funny, too. |
Well considering the argument is : HD consoles with great features and graphics versus the Wii? Yes the HD consoles have won. Considering if there was only Microsoft or a PS3 a lot more people would own a PS3 or 360. Considering 'good' graphics consoles (With 90%+ similar libraries ) have proven to sell more than the Wii has. True or False? We aren't arguing who is the most successful company. We are arguing what is the most successful philosophy?
And Sony and MS will be making money this gen in the long run. The only reason I disregarded the Microsoft RROD issue of costs is because that in no way is it a reflection of normal cost. That was a total hardware/design blunder on their part, not a cost because of moving to HD or having better graphics. Faulty Hardware is Faulty Hardware whenever it happens. The Wii just as easily could have had faulty hardware and had to do similar things. RROD isn't even a factor in this discussion.
