Xbox 360 has about 20 million gold members and they pay 50$ a year. Now thats an accomplishment.

Hmmm that post makes absolute sense sinse Microsoft said half the Xbox live accounts are gold, so if we go by VG Chartz that would be 14 million accounts that are paying 50$ a year, not 20 million.

Edit: also the article I just read said there are 17 million active account in Xbox live, so sisne half the users are gold then that means theres 8.6 million in total that pay $50 a year.

 

Oh!!  I never realized it till you wrote "active accounts"

Check the wording for both press releases

- Sony says "Registered"
- MS says "Active"

Vgchartz has 37,000 "registered" accounts.. but how many of those are actually active?
