I don't think they're necessarily stupid (and I'm a Nintendo fanboy who's never owned a Sony console). It really depends on the parameters for giving the awards. The PS3 is definately an impressive piece of hardware, has catapulted BR above HDDVD, and relatively good deal if you are one of the few in the market for hi-def DVD AND a new game console, . That apparantly isn't as large a market as Sony had hoped, but I don't believe this is an award for either marketing or gaming, so it seems a fair choice.
