I was just playing Super Mario Galaxy, and the framerate dropped to 30 during some starry explosions. I feel pretty jarred by the whole thing. I think I'm gonna be sick.

Go on. Discuss this gaming travesty. I will be heading to the restroom until I feel better.

LOL! You noticed that too? I figured I was the only that saw the framerate dip when a lot of explosions go off. The only thing is framerate dips for a FPS is a much more serious problem as it can lead to death, while the dip for SMG is typically when you're doing that bomb the trash minigame or while you're flying through the air so it's not getting in the way of gameplay.

Yeah. 20 fps. My god. Heaven forbid the framerate on a high-end shooter drop to that during some serious explosions when all your targets are being killed by explosions or a torrent of gunfire. That's almost like being forced to barf while watching big screen movies at 24 fps. How can the masses stand it?

Clearly no good shooter has ever had a framerate dip to 20 before during an intense moment. This site should capture someone playing through the entire single-player campaign of KZ2 and see if they can count the number of dips to 20 on one hand, or is it two? If its two hands, I say we raise those hands up and make some noise!

I hope they have a pen and paper handy, so they don't lose track, during the hours between dips.

You've got a point and don't seem to take things as serious as other people. I think this thread has a lot of people like myself that are on the fence about the game, being really competitive when you think about frames dipping can mean issues with gameplay on a FPS game. And then you have the nagging issue of GG's past fps on PS2 and hope there's nothing that bad.

1. Playstation 2: Killzone (2004) 70
Sony Computer Entertainment

2. Sony PSP: Killzone: Liberation (2006) 77
Sony Computer Entertainment America

3. Playstation 3: Killzone 2 (2009) 92
Sony Computer Entertainment America

It's just funny, because I just edited my post above to say the old method of attack can't work anymore because KZ2 received very good reviews, as opposed to Killzone 1, and here you go again saying you hope it's not like the PS2 version.  Well, most people seem to think it's a lot better.
