I just think the mark up they're using is greater than the value i'm getting out of Wii games compared to PS360 games. For example i may have bought games like mushroom men or deadly creatures at $30, but at $50 i feel it's too much of a mark-up. Of course some games like Mario Kart which greatly enhances the experience with motion controls & the wii wheel i buy day 1. @scottie inflation has decreased, we're in a recession. |
It's not a "mark-up".... they are not putting Wii games at $50 to get more profits, games have always been that price and with the Wii still costing more to develop for than last gen they are not going to reduce it.
The raise in price for the HD games is a mark-up because they needed it to survive, in truth they needed a lot more of an increase, but the public wouldn't have accepted it if HD games were $80.
What developers need to do is stop striving for the high tech specs because it will eventually ruin all but the biggest and best, if we just let technology get better at it's own rate costs wouldn't have increased so dramatically.
