You're criticizing my topic question without posting the entire thing. When you consider the "IF it's a bad port" part of the sentence, are and would, would have the same meaning. Regardless, I made it clear in my OP that your (and others') implications were not true, so there's no excuses this time.
However, I still think it makes someone look very defensive if they posted the same conclusions as you (in terms of the topic question).
