I dont know... Id take an oversaturation of "good" HD action games any day before I'd like to see only a few good releases a year.
I agree that it seems like a lot of publishers are making FPS games only because it is popular to do so and will make them money...but is that any different from any timeframe with gaming?
Also, while a someone who doesn't spend time with HD action games may see Bioshock, Halo and Condemned as a same game...i assure you, they are drastically different, even if they are all controlled in the first person perspective and let you hold a gun.
