How old is Sonic?

Whats cool about the Sonic games is the Genesis ones had him grow up in each of them..

Part one he was small, part to his legs got bigger part 3 he looked a little matured..

(his age, not series) He's not 15 ... if he was then he would have an umbilical cord attached to him in Sonic 1..

He was 15 years old in Sonic 1, that came out in 1991.
