I don't see Madworld, HoTD or The Conduit as upstream games really. Why? Because they are all very simple games really that any soccer mom could easily grasp and play. Mario Kart is more upstream I think than shooter HoTD. And The Conduit only slight more upstream than Mario Kart. It's pure run and gun. Move and shoot - that's it. Madworld a little more than upstream than that but not much. Don't let the over the top macho bravado fool you - these are all still downstream games. Sega is not being stupid or brave - they just realized all those dad's or husbands of WiiFit owners need a game to call all their own too.
So I don't think HD upstream game owners will care about those downstream games. Too simple, poor graphics (comparitively), little to no online (yeah, yeah, I know the Conduit - It's great for a Wii title but still just the nuts and bolts to 360/PS3)
I do think these games will move some of the casual males a little more upstream though.
I also think Nintendo has big plans to slowly bring out more and more upstream games and slowly win core gamers over to Wii and advance their own downstream audience to their mainstay titles (like Zelda).
