I call Nintendo "Dad" & the 3rd parties "The kids".

Back in the day "Dad" made "The kids" tow the line. It was "Dad's house" and you obeyed "Dad's rules" as long as you lived under "Dad's roof". Cut and dry. No backtalk.

But "The Kids" grew up & rebelled against "Ol' Pops" & leaving "his roof". In recent times "Dad" has mellowed out & is reestablishing relations with "The kids".
