Thats pretty egotistical to say that.

Halo as a franchise would be between 15-20M sales by the time GT5 is released in this generation. Halo 3, Halo ODST and Halo Wars and yet the generous estimates pin GT5 at 10M sales.

Gran Turismo is at around 50,000,000 as a franchise?  What's your point?  (Prior to even the release of Gran Turismo 5). We are talking about what these respective games mean to their  respective consoles.  Halo for Xbox, is like Gran Turismo for the Playstation in terms of consoles sold, as well as game copies sold.

Gears at present has sold more than 2.5* MGS4

Between Gears 1 and 2?   Shall I count the entire Metal Gear series as well?

Fable 2 looks like its going to be the biggest WRPG on a single platform.

You also forgot Forza 2+3 which will sell extremely well also.

Face it, at the top end of the scale the Xbox 360 is far bigger and will remain that way.

Not in terms of namesake.  Halo/Gears/and... and...Fable? Like I said, games like Metal Gear/Gran Turismo/God of War stack up very well compared to the 360s 'best'.  Historically speaking too.

Very soon the Xbox 360 will have 6 5M+ and 1 10M+ sellers. The PS3 barely has one 5M+ seller and no other games looking to threaten that mark any time soon.

Sales of a game and quality of a game are two totally different aspects.  Unless you want to concede the fact that Wii Fit with 15,000,000 sales and growing is one of the best games to ever grace ANY console?

Since you apprently missed the whole point :

It's pretty biased to say that Sony is making excuses up when some of their historically largest selling/accepted/anticipated games have yet to even be released.   Much like it would be pretty biased to say that Microsoft fans are 'making excuses up'  if they hadn't released Halo 3 or Gears of War 2 yet.

And it would be.

I never counted beyond this current generation. If one company spend X in development and gets Y return compared to another company and the ratio of X to Y is better you could say they are more successful.

If was you who compared Gears, Fable and Halo to MGS4, GT5 and GOW III. So if you want to make that comparison you have to accept the sales of every Halo game sold in this generation, every Gears game and every Fable game. As individual SKUs Halo 3, Gears and Fable 2 may outsell their counterparts but its not that simple as they have each recieved a smaller development effort than their PS counterparts so they can release more titles in the same time-frame and they must also be counted.

Sales are the key metric of success in the video game business. Critical acclaim is nice, but it obviously doesn't pay the bills or fund the next game. Furthermore if a game sells well it is because it reaches a wider demographic of people, some who may not own the respective console and draw them in. System sellers never sell poorly themselves. So if you want to talk about a system seller at this point on the HD consoles you'll have to be talking about a game which will sell at LEAST 4-5Million copies. So if Uncharted/GOW 3 doesn't meet that metric it doesn't enter the picture.
