And if the end result is less new game sales, because people don't want to pay full price, then what?
Here is something:
Developers and publishers, want to not have people buy used copies of games? How about you actually make it hard for people to want to trade in their copy of a game? You know, provide sufficient replay value, and good enough multiplayer experience, so people won't trade in their games. Do this, and you charge $60+ for a game.
If there wasn't Gamestop, then people would resort to other methods to save money and get cash. Besides this, Gamestop is bad when it comes to trade in value for games.
