DLC can be wonderful if it's used the proper way, but unfortunately most of it tries to scam you.
The very best use of DLC i have seen is burnout paradise. It added day and night cycles to the game, changed even the graphics, added motorcycles, new game modes and everything. Best of all it was all free.
