Hmm. I don't think it's a bad score. To me it seems the biggest problem is the localization which brought the score down. I guess if you can get past that there's no problem.

Companies need to be able to localize JRPGs right >_< How many companies can do that? Atlus? And Nippon Ichi?

I wonder what the first 90%+ traditional RPG will be. FF XIII? But I wish more RPGs in general get 90s (at least VC is 90%+).

Square-Enix are way more capable of localizing games than what IU, TLR, and apparently SO4 might indicate to some gamers.  Look at FFXII for a recent example.  Even if you thought FFXII's story was relatively weak, you can't deny that FFXII had a great localization along with a well-written script.  Also, Nintendo are very capable of localizing JRPGs when they actually do it.  Earthbound and the Mario RPGs have great localizations and well written scripts.  As you said, Atlus really know how to localize a JRPG.  Persona 4 sets a high standard when it comes to localization.  Nippon Ichi?  Not so much.  Their localizations tend to be terrible with the exception of anything named Disgaea.  Ar Tonelico II suffers from typos and "random" dialogue or so I've heard.
