Resolution has little/nothing to do with media size. There were plenty of CD-ROM games (maybe even floppy disk ones) which ran at HD resolutions back in the 90s.

Damn, after writing that I just realized the 90s were so long ago.

 

Gotcha..I wasn't really sure about that..so I guess that doesn't explain it=P
