haha...I've had many arguments such as this across of many forms of media.
The conclusion usually is that...someone who has played with a certain controller since they were 2 years old are better off playing with that type of controller. However, someone new to pads and fighting games is best off with the Saturn like pad.

The good news for PS3 fans is that they can pick up a PC USB saturn dpad for 30 bucks on ebay and plug it in to the PS3 and it works like a dream.
