This is not really a question Sony fans want to ask. Because the immediate and logical retort is "Can Sony continue to buy its way into defeat?". Not only is SCE less profitable than Microsoft's entertainment division, but they're also less successful.
If we want to go back in history, it's also pretty obvious that Microsoft is just adopting Sony's old strategy.
