Well, there we go.

As for Final_Fan, I do agree that abstinence only education isn't going to fix the problem, due to it's fatal flaw in assuming human nature is 100% perfect...Which it isn't. Ultimately, you need a balanced solution. Abstinence is fool-proof if used, but in a sex-crazed culture, it's a very difficult thing to assume that it 'works' as intended.

I'd be better if parents actually talked to their kids about this so it wasn't entirely the school's burden to bear, but given how stupid parents are, I guess it's a sign of the times.

From my viewpoint, abstinence is a fantastic thing. I've been in a stable, loving, committed relationship with the same girl for the past 5 years, 4 months and 2 days, and am still abstinent with her, and will be until we get married on our 7 year anniversary, and exactly 1000 days since I proposed to her (which was, interestingly enough, exactly 5 years from the day we met). It's hard to quantify how great not having sex is due to the benefits of focusing so intensely on building up a great relationship in every other way. At some point, you pass the Rubicon with this kind of behavior, and realize that it's the hardest thing you'd ever learn to enjoy, because we're both building our sexualities around eachother, and not vying for our own needs. When we get married, we know what eachother expects, even without doing it, because of the amount of time we've spent understanding eachother in every other way.

Oh well, different strokes for different folks. I just hate seeing all of my friends get wreck their relationships with selfish sexual needs. Maybe it's entirely my anecdotal observations, but it's never once been a good thing for anyone I know.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
