If you're going to make a comparison, then at least get your dates right. The Dreamcast was released November 27th 1998 in Japan, September 9th 1999 in America and October 14th 1999 in Europe. At best you're a year off. However, we're talking about games that come from Japan, so inactuality you're two years off.

Here's what's left of your list. I'm not going to look anything up myself to see if it's complete.

Skies of Arcadia (2000)

Grandia 2 (2000)

Final Fantasy X (2001)

Dark Cloud (2001)

Shadow Hearts (2001)

Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland (2001)

Not bad, but not nearly as impressive.

Yeah, nitpicking didn't make a difference anyway since we can just look at JRPGS available by YEAR then. Sure the Dreamcast was in a hurry and went ahead, but then what other JRPGs we had from late 98, 99, and the first 3 quarters of 2000 huh? That would make the list even more impressive than any list you could come up with from late 2005- late 2008(and also we should include all JRPGs from handhelds in thos 3 years 98-2001)

Don't sit there and blame me for "nitpicking". You were considerably off target with your timelines, by two years. That's a very significant advantage for last gen to have five years of RPGs against the 3 years for this gen. Excuse me for calling you out on it.

If you want to do all you just said then be my guest. Just do it fairly for both gens and not just to fill an agenda of yours. I'm not sure why you would add in all the 5th gen RPGs during the Dreamcast's timeline since they are a part of their own generation, but I suppose you can do it if you think it's more accurate. Just remember that means everything on the PS2 and GBA following the DS launch then counts towards this gen since that again would be fair.
