I agree with your post but not for the reasons you listed.

I don't mind swear words...etc as long as im still playing or its movign the story forward. I hate when they stop the gameplay to build up some character being badass..

Gears 2 for example. The "Cole train" scene...waste fo time. Every 2 minutes of "yee-haww...lets get them sons of bitches" talk on the beginnning...waste of time.

Devs need to stop interupting my gameplay with stupid dialoge that they think is "bad ass"!

Not all big FPS games are jumping on this bandwagon. Halo 3 and FEAR 2 for example...

I perfectly agree. I'm not against swear words, I'm against their use when it comes off as simply tacked on and forced for the sake of making the character look more bad ass.

Bioshock is a good example of an FPS game that does not rely on the industry's 2 biggest compulsions; that everything needs to be bad ass and that everything needs to have multiplayer. That said, Bioshock is not the best example of a "human element" in games, but it certainly deviates far from the standard of action games today and is better for it; It's dialogue, storyline and presentation are highly acclaimed alongside it's refined gameplay mechanics.
