Or why not: Total software sales on PS3 (that is all publishers including Sony) = 2,684,750 3rd party software sales on Wii (only 3rd parties, no Nintendo) = 3,346,250. |
It took what, 11 games to achieve that number? Now take a look at the 360 where three games(Dead Rising, Gears Of War, Lost Planet) achieved about 75% of that. Throw in Rainbow Six, GRAW, and it exceeds that number. The third-party software sales of the PS2 weren't anything to write home about at this point in time, either, so it shouldn't be surprising that it's the same way with the PS3. Wait until more of the heavy hitters come out(for both systems) and then make a comparison. |
To the first point: I have never stated that xbox360 3rd party sales is bad, if you notice in my post above I finish with the following sentence: If you should have the discussion as above, mention xbox360 and PC because PS3 isn't selling anything at all. That sentence might indicate that I belive that 3rd party sales on xbox360 is good, which I do belive.
To the second point: If Ridge Racer isn't a game that should have sold more than 200k during 4 months including december you know something I don't. Why should we wait for doing the comparsion when people state that Wii 3rd party sales is bad, and then state that making a port from xbox360 to PS3 would be much better. So far Wii has shown that it can stand on it's own which also is shown in the announced 3rd party exclusive the last month. Remeber I don't state that no one should make games for PS3, but I do state that the sales for Wii is enough for keeping 3rd parties in profit.
EDIT: Gears seems to be published by Microsoft, if that is correct I can't really understand why you bring that game to the table. (of course you could still change it agains NFL or anything it would probarbly show the same thing). Xbox360 3rd party sales are good
