I think the Phillips Videopac G7000 was the British equivalent of the Magnavox Odyssey 2.

This system was a lesser-known competitor to Atari, and had some pretty fun games despite the lack of 3rd party support ... though many of them were knock-offs (K.C. Munchkin was a Pac-Man ripoff).

One of the coolest things about the system was that many of the games had a level-design mode. I used to make a KC Munchkin stage where the ghosts are all trapped. You know, just to torture them.

Pro tip: If you pulled a cartridge out with the power on, and then quickly put another cartridge in, you could sometimes get weird effects. There was a spelling game that I swapped with a racing game, and then you could drive your car around the letters of the spelling game. Weird, no?
