i think it would be good to get back to a point where are three systems are on roughly equal footing graphically. because of the wii, third party studios that have relied on multiplatform titles have essentially had to make 2 different games, one for the 360/ps3 and one for the wii(or not made one version at all).

Count on it--Nintendo admitted that they could never have predicted the Wii's popularity.  They needed to be profitable if they only sold 5 million systems total.  Now that they know the stratey works, they'll be able to continue their current strategy of upstreaming with their next system.

I think you underestimate Nintendo's foresight. 'Paradigm Shift', 'Revolution', 'New Standard' were thrown around a lot.

Sure they probably had conservative estimates and even lower estimates for the public but especially with DS taking off like it did. I'm sure they knew they were onto a winner.

That said it'll be HD and probably priced at $299 - Nintendo definately priced Wii too low at launch and would have been ripe for a cut to $249 last year. Other than that, it'll continue with the ideals of the new generation market including fun pick up and play games for everyone and their own coined term: All Access Gaming
