One thing I know for sure, if we switched only the brands of the Xbox 360 and PS3 and simply called the PS3 the Xbox 360 and the Xbox 360 the PS3 the Xbox 360 would be dead and the PS3 would be thriving.

 ...because you're psychic.

If the xbox sold what it did last gen with it's library, there no way the 360 would be dead with the ps3's current library. It doesn't make any sense

Its all in the name... No Xbox at the beginning of the generation could sell for $600.

How many consoles did they sell for $600? The price dropped not even a year into it's lifespan. In the same vein, many would have bought a 360 for $700 if it launched with halo 3. Money isn't a limiting factor for everyone and even when it is limiting, everyone has a different limit.

If it were all name alone, sony won't be last place now considering their past marketshare.

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler
