Third Party games will be Nintendo's weakest point since most developers want to developer for more capable hardware. (Not trying to diss Nintendo) |
First of all, Nintendo's highest selling games right now are largely from new franchises... Like, new this decade, with 2 or less games in the series so far, but already putting games across 7 million in sales... Wii-brand, Nintendogs, Animal Crossing, Brain Age...
Second, its publishers, not developers, who make the business decisions, and they don't care how "capable" the hardware is.
"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."
Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.
