@mrstick,
It's not a ban issue at all actually, he was either mistaken or I'm grossly misinformed.
@spoiler issues in general.
Spoilers are only an issue for newer games if they are not properly advertised as such. The entire point is that spoilers are legitimate topics for discussion as long as people can have a reasonable opportunity to avoid having something spoiled. In this case the thread topic should contain a spoiler alert which I will add and will probably be there before anyone even reads this post =P
For clarity:
Situation A: You post a spoiler for KZ2 without labeling that it is a spoiler which results intentionally or unintentionally in people having the game (or parts of) spoiled:
Result: For offenses deemed unintentional you can probably expect a warning (unless it's a 2nd offense), for intentional spoilers you can expect the ban hammer to come down with force.
Situation B: You post a spoiler for KZ2 while labeling that it is a spoiler and making the effort to let people know they should only watch/read it if they don't mind spoilers.
Result: Mods do nothing, while whiny people annoyed that they have to exercise their own self-control whine.
@this situation,
This clearly falls into situation B. The thread topic explicit states what is the content and topic and the spoiler isn't even posted in the thread with additional warnings in the OP. Still it's best to add the spoiler tag with bright colors as I have now added to the OP to ensure that even the slower folks get the warnings. The bottom line however is that a more than reasonable warning was given.
PS - You can consider this the end to the "should this be a ban" discussion and return to the topic of the thread now.
