Although I do believe that the article the OP posted was definitely fueled by fanboyism, it does bring up some legitimate points and questions.
As many have stated, if their intent is to maximize their profits why are they going multi-platform for several Sony exclusive games, and yet also releasing new games exclusively for the Xbox?
I've haven't played their new games, so I can't pass judgment on them, but according to the reviewers, their recent games on next gen consoles are reportedly mediocre. I completely disagree with Sony fanboys who blame the hosting console itself for its mediocrity (although I do think that SE's use of the Unreal Engine turned disastrous). However I can somewhat understand them, as in their perspective they see SE's decision to go to the 360 as a symbol of them putting money over quality and fans.
I think those Sony fanboys should realize that Square has always been about making money. However I think someone can argue, Sony or Xbox fanboy or not, that Square seems to be approaching their method of making money almost... mechanically. Instead of the heart and soul they put into making an amazing game that would gain money due to its quality, it seems that they are thinking completely business oriented... if that makes sense. They're mindset is of trying to tap a western market by utilizing western engines and a western console, instead of simply making an amazing game.

On a side note I think that XII's failure was a result of not planning enough. It seems like they had something going. They were trying to go for some kind of theme with the power and the metaphor for the Atomic bomb. The combat system turned out to be mediocre, but it was certainly an ambitious attempt to create something unique...
So to sum it up FFXII just felt incomplete.
