Its like I said in another thread. Nintendo has basically been backed into a corner the last 10 years. Third parties have alienated them and a good portion of the market thought of them as 'washed up'. So what did they do? They made a cheaper system with a new line-up of games. Did they re-invent themselves? No. They've always been the system for 'everybody'. They just made they're system even MORE accessible for that market. They never dropped their major IPs. If anything, they already surpassed their GC lineup in the first year and probably will best their N64 line up by the end of the Wii lifetime.

The ones who re-invented themselves was MS and Sony. They focused their attention onto one market. The 14-25 year olds. aka the 'Mature' gamer.
